The Producer of the Year Award is more than a title - it’s a celebration of the very best of Australian agriculture.
Following the success of last year’s awards, we are proud to continue this tradition and have formally opened nominations for 2025. This is an opportunity for AgForce members to recognise those who exemplify what it means to be a modern producer, even if they don’t recognise it themselves.
The Producer of the Year Award acknowledges those who combine resilience with innovation, leading not just through words but through action. It rightly gives credit to those who continue to make a lasting positive impact on the land and within their communities.
In an industry like ours that is shaped by challenge and change, our producers stand at the frontline, constantly adapting and evolving to find new ways to succeed.
This includes people who bravely introduce new on-farm technologies to improve efficiency and sustainability, to those who build businesses that create local employment, or who build opportunities for people striving to be the future of our sector.
Their achievements remind us that progress in agriculture comes from courage, creativity and a deep connection to the people and places we serve.
Innovating on the land, engaging constructively in their communities and committing to strengthening agriculture for the next generation, are all qualities that deserve our praise and appreciation.
Too often, the extraordinary work of these individuals goes unnoticed. This award provides a meaningful platform to acknowledge those who continually strive for excellence.
And that’s not only in production. It could also be in leadership, stewardship, and mentorship. Whether that’s through adopting sustainable practices, driving local initiatives or supporting others to succeed, their influence extends far beyond the farm gate.
As Chair of the Young Producers Council, I encourage every AgForce member to reflect on the people in your network who embody these values.
We hope you take the time to nominate someone whose story deserves to be told and someone who represents the future of our industry.
Because by recognising and celebrating these achievements, we not only honour that one individual, but also strengthen the culture of innovation, pride and community that keeps agriculture moving forward.
