CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Be the Strategic Leader to shape the Future of Queensland Agriculture. Member based organisation with QLD wide remit.

  • Champion growth and innovation initiatives to deliver value for members
  • Drive transformational change
  • Widely respected, industry leading association

AgForce Queensland, the leading voice of cattle, grain, sheep, wool, goats and cane producers, is seeking a proven Chief Executive Officer to lead its next chapter of growth, innovation and influence.  As a registered charity and trusted advocate, AgForce drives sustainable land stewardship, delivers training, proactively promotes rural industries, influences policy and fosters strategic R&D for broadacre sectors.

Reporting to President Shane McCarthy and a dedicated Board, you will drive operational modernisation, amplify external influence, and reinvigorate member engagement. By championing Queensland agriculture nationally, leading strategic growth through new commercial ventures, and inspiring the team to become a high-performing one you will shape and influence the future of the agricultural sector in Queensland.

This is a hands-on, high impact role that will:

  • Streamline systems, enhance technology and embed a performance-driven culture;
  • Proactively advocate for Queensland producers at both Federal and State levels;
  • Drive growth by expanding revenue through commercial ventures, partnerships and asset optimisation;
  • Unify and inspire the commodity groups, by fostering collaboration and attracting diverse members;
  • Deliver a strategic agenda focussed on accountability, innovation and excellence.

The key challenges of the role are to:

  • Build a responsive, service-oriented culture that connects the AgForce team with members;
  • Review and restructure the operations to ensure clarity, efficiency and a member focus;
  • Lift team performance through transparently articulating expectations and driving a can-do attitude;
  • Strengthen financial sustainability by developing creative, innovative revenue streams; and
  • Enhance advocacy by being politically savvy, engaging with the media and building trusted relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

A proven CEO or senior executive with experience leading geographically dispersed organisations, you bring strong strategic, financial, and operational acumen, exceptional people leadership, and a values-driven approach. Ideally familiar with membership-based models and Queensland’s agricultural landscape, you’re a politically astute, media-savvy relationship builder with high EQ and a results focus. A MBA, Agricultural Science, Business or a related degree will assist, although demonstrated success in leading organisational strategy, financial sustainability, and cultural change is more critical. Your career displays a track record of performance improvement, digital transformation and member engagement.

This is a unique hands-on, mission-driven leadership opportunity with statewide impact. It is a chance to drive industry change, influence policy, and deliver members value. You will work alongside passionate producers, advocates, and emerging leaders and help enhance the already strong platform for advocacy and rural empowerment – backed by the credibility of AgForce.
