13 June 2023.

AgForce is alerting members to a shortage in tick fever vaccine.

The Queensland Government is experiencing a delay on access to a raw material required to produce the vaccine, which will see production suspended from 14 June 2023 with orders expected to recommence on July 11.

Please consider your management strategies when concerning the availability and use of tick fever vaccines for coming months.

AgForce is making enquiries to determine how this has happened and will keep members informed.

The Government’s Tick Fever Centre manufactures and supplies tick fever vaccines as an effective tool for Queensland cattle producers to help reduce the productivity and welfare impacts of the disease in the cattle tick infested areas of Queensland.

If you require any further information regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact the Tick Fever Centre by telephone on 07 3270 9600 or via email at TFC@daf.qld.gov.au
