AgForce has welcomed new findings which reveal greater community support for live exports.

According to research commissioned by LiveCorp and Meat & Livestock, Australians continue to recognise the importance of live exports to the domestic economy and farming communities, and the general sentiment is that industry’s treatment of animals has improved.

This is the second national survey of more than 4,000 people, carried out to help the industry understand the best ways to build trust in the community.

When asked to weigh the costs and benefits of the industry, the findings show the value proposition has strengthened modestly over the past two years.

There is even stronger recognition of the benefits of live exports to people in destination countries, through its contribution to diet and food security.

AgForce recognises the importance of live export to Queensland and Australian beef producers, and is encouraged by the latest survey results.
