The network provide links for young rural people in Queensland to network, exchange ideas, promote positive progress in agriculture and socialise with other like minded people involved in rural industry.

Through training and being informed, involved members will become skilled to handle their lifestyle, farm/business management, and/or communication and leadership issues.

There are members throughout the regions and they are fully integrated within the existing branch structure of AgForce.

What is AgForce Future - Young Member Network going to do for me?

Being part of the network will enable you to:
  • have contact with a wide range of young people from across the state.
  • give you all the benefits of being an AgForce member (except voting rights on anything other than a YMN issue), including representation and commercial benefits.
  • raise the profile of issues affecting you as a young person in a rural area.
  • be proactive in fulfilling the needs of young people in rural areas in relation to training, accessing information and the social side of life.
I do not have time for another organisation.

Time commitments can be as great or as little as you like.

It is not compulsory to attend meetings or functions.

Many members are involved simply to be informed, linked to a network of young people, and to receive the commercial benefits of being an AgForce member.

The choice is yours, but the more involved you become, the more benefits you are likely to receive.

Why do you need a separate group for young people?

AgForce Future - Young Member Network is fully integrated within AgForce and is not a separate group.

It is more like a 'focus group' - that is, it will focus on issues and services for younger members.

This is the same for other committees such as resource management, native title, etc.

Why should I not drop the full/joint membership and just pay for YMN?

If you drop your full membership you will not be able to hold an elected position or have voting rights within AgForce Queensland.

This means that you cannot be on state council or a commodity board or vote for the general president of AgForce or on resolutions at branch meetings, regional meetings or state conferences.
