THIS
year’s photo competition has rural
and regional communities in the
frame as AgForce seeks to expand our
stock of images representing life
outside Queensland’s south-east
corner.
Following members enthusiastic
support of the photo competition
during the past six years, we now
have a well-stocked photo library of
digital images showing life on
cattle, sheep and wool, and grain
properties.
“To build our collection of images
to truly reflect life beyond the
Great Dividing Range, we will be
focusing on a different theme each
year for the next few years -
beginning with communities,” AgForce
CEO Brett de Hayr said.
“The new Every Family Needs A
Farmer campaign advertisement
includes a series of photos that
reflect the spectrum of life in
rural communities,” Mr de Hayr said.
“Our library is brimming with
spectacular images of farms, animals
and children but it became apparent
during our search for photos that we
have a lack of images which show
farming families off-farm in their
local towns.
“The images we are seeking could be
of country roads, the main street of
your local town, the butcher, the
fruit shop, the community hall,
market days, utes parked in the main
street, volunteers at work … the
list of photo opportunities is
endless.”
As with previous photo competitions,
we ask members to submit
high-definition digital photos that
include a photo name, and the
photographer’s name. Images can be
emailed to Ashlea Heaton on
heatona@agforceqld.org.au.
The
competition is open to members only
and there is no limit on the amount
of entries. Entries sent in may also
be chosen for a photographic
exhibition. Copyright for photos
entered into the competition
transfers to AgForce Queensland for
use in AgForce publications. If you
do not wish for copyright to be
transferred please advise AgForce in
writing.
