AgForce delivers services and practical workshops to guide all Queensland producers and landholders through the challenges of legislation and the opportunities of new technology and on-farm management practices to secure an environmentally sustainable, productive and profitable industry.
AgForce offers a range of chemical training courses for agricultural, horticultural, nursery, local government, environmental and domestic situations. The training is nationally recognised and satisfies the National Registration Authority requirements for purchasing restricted chemicals. SMARTtrain also aligns with quality assurance requirements and program standards.
Through the AgForward initiative, staff assisted producers with creating and lodging Property Maps of Assessable Vegetation and permits for fodder harvesting, infrastructure clearing, encroachment control, thinning and weed and pest control. Funding for the AgForward initiative ended 30 September 2012.
Carbon on Farm helps primary producers prepare for a carbon future, by delivering workshops which explain farm-level impacts of an emissions trading scheme, how to calculate a property’s carbon footprint and potential carbon sequestration opportunities.
The Grains Best Management Practice (BMP) project helps broad acre grain growers identify improved practices in pesticide application, farm design and rainfall, pest and soil management.
Leasehold Land Project helped primary producers with leasehold land undertake the Delbessie lease agreement process. Funding for the Leasehold Land Project ended 30 September.
