Advancing Rural Queensland

Education

Shaping the future

AgForce believes in promoting agriculture to the next generation by encouraging today’s students to consider a challenging and fulfilling career in a rural industry.

AgForce's School to Industry Partnership Program, the only program of its kind in Australia, has grown from strength to strength since its inception in 2004.

So far this vital program has educated more than 65000 students about the diversity and potential of choosing a career in agriculture and the importance of agriculture in their lives.

In December 2010, the program’s funding was extended until 2013, via the Queensland Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation and Skills Queensland.

This gives the program the opportunity to continue reaching students through career talks, farm tours, expos, science days and other activities.

The Rural Champion Volunteer program, launched in 2008, is a vital component of the program to help spread the Every Family Needs A Farmer message to the urban community. Visit our Open the Gate page to watch some videos about careers in agriculture.
