| Keeping grains industry moving AgForce Grains has been working with the Queensland Government to find a resolution to the ongoing truck and train issue. Last year AgForce was able to secure five trains for the movement of grain away from silos, but despite this there was still a problem of the trains actually showing up on time and sometimes at all to collect the grain. During the growing season GrainCorp was able to negotiate a “take or pay” scheme with Queensland Rail to prevent a repeat of last year. This issue is a concern for all AgForce members, and AgForce President John Cotter is now dealing with Queensland Government directly on behalf of AgForce. However, AgForce Grains continues to advise the president on the issues which affect grains specifically so that the focus is not lost. |
