Biosecurity

Keeping grains industry safe

The State Government is currently reviewing the biosecurity legislation in Queensland.

There are nine and a half Acts which currently deal with biosecurity issues that have the potential to arise in Queensland, and in attempt to reduce this 'red tape, the State Government intents to replace the Act with a single piece of legislation to address all biosecurity issues.

The Queensland Government is only at the consultation stage - advising industry that they are going to be conducting the process.

The next stage is what changes (if any) are required.

As the use of agricultural chemicals falls under biosecurity legislation, AgForce will play a leading role in the process to ensure any changes made are are not to the detriment of our industry.
